Break Out Your Chicken Dance Because ‘Arrested Development’ Is Returning for Season 5
It’s time to rebuild the banana stand and cry buckets of joy.
On Wednesday, Netflix confirmed that cult comedy Arrested Development is returning for a much-needed Season 5. The off-kilter show centers on the misadventures of the Bluth family as they continue to wreak havoc and instill laughter throughout Orange County, California.
The new season will have a total of 15 episodes which will air sometime in 2018. The series has an incredible ensemble cast that includes Jason Bateman, David Cross, Jessica Walter, Jeffrey Tambor, Portia de Rossi, Tony Hale, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, and Alia Shawkat.
In fact, Bateman took to Twitter to express his excitement about the forthcoming season of Arrested Development.
Season 5 will begin shooting early this summer and the entire cast is returning. (Hell to the yes!) In fact, things could get a bit political this time around with the Bluth family. Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz released a statement that drew comparisons to President Donald Trump, his family, and his real-estate empire.
“In talks with Netflix, we all felt that stories about a narcissistic, erratically behaving family in the building business — and their desperate abuses of power — are really underrepresented on TV these days,” stated Hurwitz. “I am so grateful to them and to 20th TV for making this dream of mine come true in bringing the Bluths, George Sr., Lucille and the kids; Michael, Ivanka, Don Jr., Eric, George-Michael, and who am I forgetting, oh Tiffany. Did I say Tiffany? — back to the glorious stream of life.”
Sounds exciting, right?!
