‘Sin City,’ ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Actor Powers Boothe Has Passed Away
Actor Powers Boothe, known for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Sin City, has passed away.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Boothe died Sunday, May 14 of natural causes. He was 68.
Prominent character actor Boothe played Gideon Malick in Marvel’s Agents, Senator Roark in Sin City, and also acted in classics like Deadwood and Nixon. He was the recipient of a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie for his role in 1980’s Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones.
Fellow actor and friend Beau Bridges spoke out on Boothe’s passing on Sunday afternoon.
“It’s with great sadness that I mourn the passing of my friend Powers Boothe,” he wrote. “A dear friend, great actor, devoted father & husband.”
Boothe is survived by his wife Marlene Tochal-Pennan and four children, Parisse, Reuben, Reginald Boothe, and Preston Allen.
